V-Hawks Finish 2nd at Seminole Valley Stampede; Two in the Top Ten

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Viterbo University Women's Cross Country team finished 2 out of 16 teams with a score of 67 at the Seminole Valley Stampede hosted by Mount Mercy University (Iowa) on Saturday. The V-Hawks were just a point behind team champions Missouri Baptist. Deanna Newhouse of Mount Mercy was the Individual champion with a time of 18:19.5.

Madelyn Adam was the top performer for the V-Hawks, finishing eighth with a time of 19:08.0, just three seconds ahead of her teammate Vanessa Thomas, who finished 10th. Anya Hirsch was just behind her in 12th with a time of 19:12.4 and Brenna McDonough came in 15th at 19:17.7. Hannah Butler was the final scorer for Viterbo, finishing 30th with a time of 20:06.7. Tori Gerber and Jerica Mueller were the final members of Viterbo's top seven, coming in 42nd (20:34.4) and 76th (21:45.3) respectively.

Other competitors for the V-Hawks included Megan Scheuer (79th, 21:51.2), Bernadette Frisch (91st, 22:15.6), Maria Grater (98th, 22:43.4), Rebecca York (109th, 23:10.4), and Madie Olson (127th, 24:32.0)

Viterbo had a team total time of 1:36:56, an average of 19:24, a spread of :58.8.

Viterbo's next event comes on Saturday, October 15 at the UW-La Crosse Tori Neubauer Invitational.
