V-Hawks Finish Second at Platteville; Four in Top Ten

CUBA CITY, Wis. – The Viterbo University Women's Cross Country team finished second out of seven teams at the UW-Platteville Gender Equity Meet on Saturday. The V-Hawks scored 45 points, four points behind meet champions Ripon College (41). Mikayla Flyte of Ripon was the individual champion with a time of 23:25.8.

Junior Madelyn Adam was the top performer for Viterbo, finishing fifth with a time of 24:01.6. Just behind her in sixth and seventh were teammates Anya Hirsch (24:04.5) and Brenna McDonough (24:05.6). 30 seconds later was the V-Hawks final top-10 finisher, Vanessa Thomas, whose time of 24:37.0 was good for ninth place. Hannah Butler was the final scorer for Viterbo, finishing in 18th with a time of 24:03.3. Viterbo's team total was 121:52.0, average was 24:22.4, and spread was 1:01.7.

Tori Gerber came in 21st at 25:49.9 and Megan Scheuer, the final Viterbo competitor was 34th at 27:38.1.

Viterbo's individual runners included Jerica Mueller (28:05.9) finishing 46th, just ahead of two more V-Hawks, Kaitlyn Wrage (28:09.4) and Bernadette Frisch (28:09.5). Rebecca York (28:47.3) came in 53rd, Maria Grater was 54th (28:52.9), and Madie Olson was 61st (30:21.7).

Viterbo returns to action Saturday, October 8 at the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede.
