Hirsch Finishes Top 3 at Mount Mercy

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Viterbo University Women's Cross Country team competed at the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede, hosted by Mount Mercy University (Iowa) on Saturday morning. The V-Hawks took fourth place out of seven teams with 101 team points.

William Woods (Mo.) captured the team title with 33 points, with Mekayla Gibson being the individual champion (18:26.4).

Anya Hirsch was the top performer for Viterbo taking third place with a time of 19:14.5. the next three V-Hawks finished in quick succession with Tori Gerber finishing 23rd (20:57.3, 20 points), Hannah Butler finishing 25th (21:13.4, 22 points), and Vanessa Thomas finishing 26th (21:22.7, 23 points). With a mark of 22:17.6, Jerica Mueller was the final scorer for Viterbo, finishing 38th and scoring 33. Bernadette Frisch came in 48th (42) with a mark of 23:15.6, and Kasey Jacobs had (44) came in 50th, finishing in 23:30.7.

The V-Hawks return to action on Friday, November 3 as they host the NSAA Conference Championship Meet at Maple Grove Venues.
