Hirsch Leads V-Hawks in Season Opener
NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Viterbo University Women's Cross Country team began their 2023 season at the Carleton College (Minn.) Running of the Cows on Saturday morning. The V-Hawks finished with a team score of 389, placing 13th out of 16 teams, including three teams ranked in the top 25 of NCAA Division III.
Anya Hirsch, with a time of 24:29.0, was the top performer for the V-Hawks, taking 53rd and scoring 38. Hannah Butler would be the next V-Hawk to pass the finish line, taking 116th and scoring 69 with a time of 26:26.9. Tori Gerber and Kasey Jacobs would not be far apart, scoring 91 and 94 and recording times of 28:16.9 and 28:48.7, respectively. Jerica Mueller was the final scorer for Viterbo, her mark of 29:15.9 placing her 182, scoring 97. Bernadette Frisch (99) had a time of 29:34.4 and Kayla DeWitt was just behind her (100) at 29:34.4.
The V-Hawks return to action on Saturday, September 23 at the UW-Platteville Pioneer Gender Equity Invitational.
