V-Hawks sweep Presentation in NSAA Quarterfinals

LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Viterbo University Women's Volleyball team (10-7) won in straight sets (25-11,25-13,25-19), against Presentation (6-17) Tuesday night in the NSAA Quarterfinals.

Viterbo took an early 5-2 lead behind back-to-back kills from Kenzie Winker (SO/Holmen, Wis.) and a service run by Cassidy Spies (FR/Fort Atkinson, Wis.). The V-Hawks used this momentum and continued to be a dominant force in the front row. A kill from Rekha Drevlow (SR/Lake Mills, Wis.) gave Viterbo a set one victory 25-11. Viterbo hit a whopping .650% with 14 kills and only one error.

Viterbo wasted no time to start the second set. A service run from Abbey Johnson (SO/Brodhead, Wis.) allowed the V-Hawks to start up 3-0. After a quick start, Presentation settled in and both teams went point-for-point. At 6-8, Cailie Kowal (FR/Onalaska, Wis.) went on a five-point service run. After a quick side out by Presentation, Viterbo managed to rattle off four straight kills and taking an 11-point lead. A kill from Maya Roberts (SR/Watertown, Wis.) gave the V-Hawks the second set victory 25-13.

Set three started out even with both teams siding out. A kill from Maya Roberts along with a pair of Presentation errors allowed Viterbo to take a five-point lead. Viterbo continued to chip off a few points here and there allowing them to take a 22-15 lead. Presentation made a late push to pull within four, but Viterbo was able to close out the set on a pair of kills from Maya Roberts. Viterbo took set three 25-19.

The Viterbo University Women's Volleyball team moves on to face the winner of (RV) Mayville State University (22-9) & Valley City State University (4-19) in the NSAA Semifinals. The match will be played Tuesday, April 6th, with time and location To Be Determined.
