What is SALT?
The Viterbo University Student-Athlete Leadership Team is made up of members that represent their teams in a monthly forum to discuss ideas and issues that affect the success of Viterbo Athletics Programs. Each varsity program at Viterbo is represented by one or more student-athletes during monthly meetings and discussions. SALT is a resource for student-athletes to make their voices and opinions heard.
The SALT is in place for the purposes of providing a communication link between student-athletes and administration, encouraging communication and unity between student-athletes and teams, and increasing involvement and awareness of athletic programs on campus and in the community.
Student-athletes that are members of SALT will serve on one of five subcommittees.
Campus Involvement: The mission of this committee is to be a line between Viterbo Athletics and the rest of the Viterbo Campus Community. Members of this committee help to organize and promote events put on by SALT as well as promoting and encouraging studetn-athletes to get involved with other groups and events across campus.
Community Service: The purpose of this committee is to assist in planning and coordinating community service events each year. They work as liasons between Viterbo Athletics and organizations in the La Crosse community.
Leadership Development: The mission of the leadership development team is to initiate opportunities for members of SALT. The team assists in determining speakers for monthly meeting and hosting SALT Career Panel. THey work as the main framework for the Fall and Spring Huddles and collaborate with the social/team building subcommittee to develop activities for the huddles.
School Spirit: The purpose of the school spirit subcomittee is to assist in social media planning, promoting home events, conducting promotions and giveaway, promoting student-athletes with videos, highlights, and spotlights, as well as choosing game themes.
Social/Team Building: The mission of the social/team building committee is organizing activities and social events on and off campus that assist in building comardery across all of athletics. The subcommittee assists the leadership development team with the Fall and Spring Huddles.
