ELGIN, Ill. -- The V-Hawks traveled to Illinois on Tuesday afternoon to face off against the Judson Eagles. After 90 minutes, the V-Hawks came away with a strong 4-1 victory, improving to a 4-1 record (3-0 CCAC) while the Eagles fall to 1-6 (0-3 CCAC).
The V-Hawks were led by Brynlee Kelly in their matchup. The freshman recorded her first career hat trick with a three goal performance in the dominant win. Kelly now leads the team in goals this season with six. Anna Prokopec Urueta scored the fourth goal for the V-Hawks, the second of her career. Defensively, Madison Zilm collected five saves, allowing just one to pass through during the match.
V-HAWK SCORING
- 30' - After 30 minutes, the V-Hawks earned their first goal of the match. Kelcie Karweick lined up the ball for a free kick, assisting Brynlee Kelly in her first goal of the match. Kelly put the ball in with the heel of her foot to put the V-Hawks on the board.
- 39' - Just nine minutes later, Kelly got a hold of the ball again, this time on a pass in from Natalie Graham. The freshman scored her second goal of the game, and the second goal for the V-Hawks.
- 66' - Only one minute after the Eagles scored, Brynlee Kelly found herself with the ball once again on an assist from Casey Hill. Kelly scored the third goal of the game, and the third goal for the V-Hawks.
- 78' - In an unassisted effort, Anna Prokopec Urueta found the back of the net to score the final goal of the day for the V-Hawks, finishing the 4-1 victory over the Eagles.
