V-Hawks Draw a Tie in Conference Match

LA CROSSE, Wis.- The Viterbo University Women's Soccer team drew a 2-2 tie with Trinity Christian College (ill.) in their third conference match. The V-Hawks now hold a 3-1-5 (1-0-2 CCAC) record, while the Trolls sit at 6-1-2 (2-0-1 CCAC).  

Ella Herman got the game rolling right away by taking two shots. The Trolls answered with a goal made by Demi Scibetta assisted by Emily Soriaga. The V-Hawk's first shot on goal was taken by Brooke Clemments. Carsen Desens followed up by taking another shot but was saved by the Troll's goalie Michelle Urribarri. Trinity Christian expanded their lead by making another goal from Kara Amidon and assisted by Grace Wieneke. At 30:12, Ella Herman scored the first goal for Viterbo and was assisted by Brooke Clements. Ella Hager would take a final shot of the first period but would be saved by the Trolls goalie. 

Soriaga and Malia Kits would both take a shot to start the second period but were saved by Viterbo's goalie Veerle Vriens. The Trolls player Scibetta would take a shot but was solved by Vriens. Amidon would also take two shots with one hitting the post. Clements would answer with an unassisted goal at 69:39. Ashlee Tupper took a shot, but it was saved by Urribarri. Jenna Bennett would take two corner kicks towards the end of the period, but neither were converted. Trinity Christian's Jade Maldonado would take the final shot of the match, but it would hit the crossbar. 

 Herman had a score with only one shot on goal with three total shots. Clements had a score with three shots on goal with four total shots. Vriens (T, 1-1-1) had six saves. 

The V-Hawks will return to the field on Saturday, September 30 as they travel to Holy Cross (Ind.).
