V-Hawks vs Warriors Ends in Scoreless Draw

FOREST CITY, Iowa – The Viterbo University Women's Soccer team traveled to Waldorf University (Iowa) on Wednesday night, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw. The V-Hawks now sit at 2-1-2 on the season, while the Warriors hold a 0-2-1 record.

Viterbo was on the offensive early, as Casey Hill, Ella Herman, and Jenna Bennett all landing shots on goal in the first six minutes. Herman added another shot on goal in the 11th minute. After a long drought of both teams missing shots wide, Waldorf had their first shot land on goal at 39:23, but Veerle Vriens secured the save.

Carsen Desens and Lauren Wedig started the second with another two quick shots on goal, and Iveth Guzman responded at 59:17, but the goalies continued to record saves. The Warriors ended the match with four more shots on goal, while Hadley Dammer took the final attempt for the V-Hawks, but neither team would find the back of the net, ending in a 0-0 stalemate.

Dammer led Viterbo with three shots, while Herman was the only player with multiple shots on goal. Sydney Boyd took six of Waldorf's 12 shots, with four on target. Veerle Vriens had six saves, and Samantha Linteo had seven.

Viterbo returns to action on Wednesday, September 13 as they host UW-Stout at 1 PM.
