V-Hawks Outlasted in Ranked Matchups

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The Viterbo Men's Volleyball team fell to Benedictine Meza (Ariz) in three sets (31-29, 25-7, 25-16) and to Missouri Valley (25-9, 25-14, 25-11) on Saturday. The V-Hawks fall to 1- 7, Missouri Vally rises to 4-0, and Benedictine Mesa improves to 3-1.

Styrk Myhre would swing the first kill of the day for the V-Hawks Followed by Alex Kratzenstein keeping the score close. Ending a nine point run Logan Amdur would set up Riley Connors to find the kill before doing it once again holding off set point.

The V-Hawks would find eight more kills in the second set though would be held to only three in the third.

A. Kratzenstein and Myhre led the V-Hawks with five kills each, Amdur led with 14 assists, while Dugan took 10 digs. Luca Hasse led Missouri Valley with 11 kills.

Match two of the day, Connors would open up the floor for the V-Hawks with a kill from Amdur before Amdur would send over an attack of his own. Myhre and Amdur at the net would claim a block followed by Myhre with the kill.

Improving from their first matchup of the day, the V-Hawks would send over 10 kills with only three errors in the second set, and 14 with four errors in the third.

Davis and Connors led with six kills each for the V-Hawks, while Amdur set up 17 assists, and Dugan took eight digs.

The V-Hawks return to action Tuesday February 11at Edgewood College for a nonconference matchup.
