BELLEVUE, Neb. – The Viterbo University Men's Soccer team, ranked #24 in the most recent NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll, wrapped up their regular season with a 2-0 victory on the road at Bellevue on Saturday afternoon. The V-Hawks improve to 15-1-1, (2-1-0 CAC) while the Bruins fall to 4-10-3 (2-2-0 CAC).

Both goalies saw plenty of action early in the game, with Jacob Battista, Conner Erdmann, Aidan Greer, and Diego Arenal all having shots on goal saved before the 20 minute mark, and V-Hawks keeper Luca Columbo earning two saves in that same time. In the latter 25 minutes of the first half, Columbo would earn three more saves, but Viterbo would not manage another shot on goal.

Benian Yao opened the second half with a goal just one minute in to break the stalemate. Columbo had two more saves before the 62:07 mark, when Polyzois Douvas put in an unassisted goal to extend the lead to 2-0. Over the final 28 minutes of the game, Bellevue would take four more shots, with only one on goal.

Both teams took 12 shots, with eight on goal apiece. Bellevue took two corner kicks, and Viterbo took one. Columbo (W, 3-0-1) had eight saves while Romeo Paparesta (3-8-3) had six.

The V-Hawks return to action on Wednesday, November 9 at the CAC Conference Tournament.
