V-Hawk men take care of business on Senior Day, defeating Dickinson 93-74

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University V-Hawk Men's Basketball team (9-6) hosted the Dickinson State University Blue Hawks (8-12) on Saturday at R.W. Beggs Sr. Gymnasium. The V-Hawks defeated Dickinson State, 93-74.

The ability for the V-Hawk men to spread the ball and get looks from behind the arc was the difference maker in tonight's game. Viterbo sank a total of 14 threes, nine in the first half alone. Dakota Mannel (Fr. – Onalaska, Wis.) sank a three just before the half to send Viterbo into the locker room up 47-41.

Halfway into the second half, Dickinson started to pick up momentum; however, an and-one from Jack Monis (So. – Oconomowoc, Wis.) shifted the momentum back into Viterbo's favor. It was all V-Hawks after that.

Robert Cunitz (Jr. – Kendall, Wis.) led the way for Viterbo with 26 points, with 18 of those points coming from three-point range. He was followed by Monis with 21 points and Brady Polk (Jr. – Berlin, Wis.) with 18 points. Polk also ended the night with a team-high eight assists.

The men shot 56.3 percent from the field and 53.8 percent from behind the arc. The quick-pass offense produced 23 assists on the night. The V-Hawks also handled the ball well, only committing six turnovers, compared to Dickinson State's 12, respectively.

The V-Hawk Men's Basketball team (10-6) will travel next to Mayville State University (10-4) to face the Comets on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Follow the action by visiting our website or by following us on social media.
