V-Hawks Taken Down by Bee’s

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University fell in their second set of game with St. Ambrose on Friday afternoon. The V-Hawks sink to 14-13  (CCAC 9-7), while the Fighting Bee's rise to 14-15 (CCAC 11-7).

The V-Hawks held the score at zeros until the top of the fourth inning when the Bees would capitalize on a sac fly followed by a fielders choice resulting in a run.

Anthony Sanchez pitched all seven innings on the mound with five strikeouts, allowing three hits and three runs.

The V-Hawks would post up six hits with no score to show, including Gavin Daniel, Spencer Hans, Cody Wells, and Matt Monaghan.

Viterbo 0, St. Ambrose 14

The Bee's would have a strong outing in game four with multiple runs in multiple innings including five in the sixth.

For the loss, Cale Beckman started on the mound with five strikeouts, though allowed six runs over six hits. In relief for a single inning Jomar Guzman would let up seven runs in four hits, to close Anthony Reza would take to the mound striking out a single batter and allowing a single hit and run.

Hans would lead at the plate with a sac bunt, Xavier Gilmore would lead on base with a single stolen base. In the field Roberto Echevarria would collect a double play.

The V-Hawks return to action Tuesday April 1 at Clarke for a single game.
