Bio
Taylor Hanson enters his second year as the men's golf head coach in the 2026-27 season.
During the 2025-26 season, Hanson led the V-Hawks to one of the strongest men's golf showings in program history. Hanson coached one NAIA National Qualifier and the CCAC Individual Conference Champion. Both accolades are first-time happenings for the men's golf program at the university. Throughout the season, Hanson led the team to one team championship. Throughout the month of April, the team never dipped below a third place finish.
Though only entering his second year as the head coach at Viterbo, Hanson is no stranger to Viterbo University.
He served as an assistant coach with the V-Hawk women's golf program for two years and served with the V-Hawk men's golf team for three seasons as well. Hanson joined the coaching staff after a four-year playing career with the V-Hawks. In addition to his time with the golf teams, Hanson also served as an assistant men's basketball coach with the V-Hawks for nine seasons. He also works as an Assistant Professor in the Dahl School of Business, teaching Economics, Finance, and Leadership.
Hanson has graduated from Viterbo University four times (2017, 2019, 2021, 2025). He has earned his bachelor's degree, two master's degrees, and his Doctor of Education in Ethical Leadership.
Taylor and his wife Ashley reside in West Salem.
