Bio

Simonson enters her second year as Director of Athletics Communications at Viterbo University.

At Viterbo, Simonson oversees the creation of content and management of viterboathletics.com along with Viterbo Athletics’ official social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube). She oversees the scoring and statistical reporting for each of Viterbo’s 19 intercollegiate sports to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA), Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) for men’s volleyball, Association of Independent Institutions for men’s and women’s soccer, and the United State Bowling Congress. She also acts as the media relations contact for each sport. She has been a member of CoSIDA since 2020.

Simonson graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in May of 2019 with her bachelor's degree in Public Relations. After that, she attended the University of Georgia, where she earned her master's degree in Sports Management in June 2020. She worked for UW-Eau Claire in their Sports Information Department all four years of her undergrad. In the summer of 2017, she worked as a Public Relations intern for the Eau Claire Express where she coordinated public appearances, social media, and sponsored events. While at Georgia, Simonson was able to work with the nationally-recognized Georgia football team in Facility Operations. 

Simonson is originally from Amery, Wisconsin, and currently resides in La Crosse. She is an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, the Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Milwaukee Brewers. 

She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, being active, and the opportunity to cover student-athletes who choose to use their God-given athletic abilities while at Viterbo University.
