Gerber Set to Run at National Meet
LA CROSSE, Wis. – The NAIA Women's Cross Country Championships are set for Friday, November 22 at 11:30 a.m. CST in Colombia, Mo. at Gans Creek Cross Country Course. Tori Gerber will be representing the V-Hawks at the national meet.
"I couldn't be more excited for Tori. Her drive towards excellence and dedication to the sport has really shined through this season. She consistently saw PR's and more importantly, placed higher at meets this season than last year. Increasing her summer training along with trusting herself in her training and races has given her a competitive boost." said Head Coach Marcia Taddy. "She works hard and is a great example for the team, really a great athlete to coach. Watching her at the big show this Friday will be fun because we will get to see her determination and resilience in full display. I am overjoyed and proud of what she has been able to achieve and ecstatic for what's ahead!"
Gerber punched her ticket to nationals at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) conference meet, by taking fifth with a time of 22:39.3. Olivet Nazarene (IL) won the team title, so the top four finishers not from ONU earned individual qualifications for the Championship Meet. Gerber's mark was her personal best 6,000-meter time, placing her second in school history.
