V-Hawks Places 9th at the Blugold Invite
Colfax, Wis. – The Viterbo University Women's Cross Country team competed at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational Friday afternoon taking ninth, with 11 athletes competing in the 6k.
UW-Eau Claire claimed the team title with 58 teams points, and two runners in the top-10. Lila Branchaw was the individual champion from Minnesota with a time of 22:01.8.
For the V-Hawks senior, Tori Gerber was the first finisher with a time of 23:00.1 scoring eight points and reaching a personal record, shortly followed by Casey Reynolds at 23:38.3. Vanessa Thomas, next crossed the finish line at 23:43.0. and rounding out the top five V-Hawks runner AJ Murphy came in at 25:33.9 with Hannah Butler finishing just behind at 25:40.0.
Samantha Berndt with a time of 26:03.1 was the V-Hawks sixth finisher followed a quick 20 seconds later at 26:24.1, Jolie Jaeger. Junior Kayla DeWitt coming in with a time of 31:02.3 would be VU's eighth finisher with Bernadette Frisch hot on her heels at 31:09.8. The final Viterbo finishers would be Rebecca York and Oliva Cox finishing with times of 32:34.7 and 34:00.6 respectively.
The V-Hawks return to action on Saturday, October 12 in Bettendorf, Iowa for the St. Ambrose Fightin Bees Invitational.
