Gerber Leads V-Hawks in Season Opener
DECORAH, Iowa – The Viterbo University Women's Cross Country team began their 2024 season at the Luther College (IA) Luther All American Invitational Saturday morning. The V-Hawks finished with a team score of 81, scoring third out of eight teams.
Tori Gerber with a time of 19:41.5, was the top performer for the V-Hawks taking sixth place scoring 4. Casey Reynolds and Vanessa Thomas would be the next V-Hawks to cross the finish line, taking ninth scoring 7 with a time of 19:56.2 and 10th scoring 8 with a time of 20:00.2, Reynold's in her debut season as a V-Hawk. The next V-Hawk would be Hannah Butler scoring 30 with a time of 21:42.9. Samantha Berndt, AJ Murphy, and Jolie Jaeger would came in not far apart scoring 32, 34, and 37 respectively with times of 21:44.1, 21:55.8, and 22:13.9. as the last scoring V-Hawks on the day. Kayla DeWitt and Bernadette Frisch came out in 66th and 67th with times of 25:02.5 and 25:48.3, while Olivia Cox came in 73rd at 29:43.5.
The V-Hawks return to action Saturday September 21st as they travel to St. Olaf.
