V-Hawks Unanimously Top Preseason Poll

BISMARK, N.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) has released their Women's Cross Country Coaches' Preseason Poll, and Viterbo University was unanimously selected to repeat as conference champions.

The V-Hawks collected all six first-place votes and 36 points to secure the top spot in the preseason poll, in which coaches can vote for their own teams. Dickinson State (N.D.) and Dakota State (S.D.) were tied for second in the poll, recording 27 points each.  Bellevue (Neb.) was fourth with 17 points.  Valley City State (N.D.) edged Waldorf (Iowa) by one point (10-9) to finish fifth.

Viterbo is also set to host the NSAA Cross Country Championships, set for Friday, Nov. 3 at Maple Grove Venues in West Salem, Wis.

VU is led this year by first year head coach Marcia Taddy, and return 2022 First-Team All-NSAA performers Anya Hirsch (5th place) and Vanessa Thomas (6th place). Tori Gerber and Hannah Butler were both also top-15 finishers at the conference meet last year.
