Conner Leads V-Hawks in Win
UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. – The Viterbo University Women's Volleyball team swept Governors State University in three sets (25-13, 25-14, 25-18) on senior day. The V-Hawks rise to 21-9 (CCAC 13-0) while the Jaguars fall to 6-14 (CCAC 2-11).
Maddie Connor's set to Sadie Treptow would claim the first point of the match, followed by an 11 point run with Connor on service. Izzy Jahr would find the sweet spot along side Martina McGrath finding kill after kill building a tough lead.
Connor would find herself a kill from Casey Frankland early in the second set, a six point run to soon follow with kills by Jada Mitchell and Jahr. With Grace Check back in the serving rotation Jahr and Mitchell would put up a block and two kills to clinch set two.
The V-Hawks would take the lead, with Kenidi McCabe on service, Cailie Kowal would find Grace Peyron for a kill after a McGrath and Peyron block. The Jaguars hot on their heels Connor would make quick work finding Treptow for the final kill of the match.
Jahr led the V-Hawks with seven kills, while Connor supplied 20 assists and Kowal with 13. McCabe took 13 digs, Mia Barr led the Jaguars with 6 kills.
The V-Hawks return to action Wednesday, November 6 at Indiana South Bend for the final regular season conference match.
