Seven V-Hawks Named to All-Region Team

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association has officially released their 2023 All-Region teams, and seven V-Hawks have earned honors in the Northcentral Region.

Kenzie Winker, Sr., OH – Winker makes her fifth career appearance on the All-Region team, while also being named the Northcentral Player of the year. She is the first AVCA Regional Player of the Year since Natalie Geidel (2015). This year, Winker was also selected as they NSAA Player of the Year, and earned an NAIA National Attacker of the Accolade as well. She recorded 494 kills, 4.02 kills/set, on .212 hitting, and 660 receptions, while only committing 19 errors. She also added 2.64 digs/set, 56 total blocks, 27 assists and 17 aces.

Jada Mitchell, So., MH – Mitchell earned her second straight Northcentral Offensive Player of the Year Award while being named to her second All-Region team. This goes in tandem with her second NSAA Offensive Player of the Year and First-Team Honors. She has recorded 353 kills so far this year (2.87/set) while hitting .374, and 122 blocks (19 solo).

Kenidi McCabe, Jr., DS – McCabe made her first appearance on the All-Region Team by being named the Northcentral Libero of the Year. This is the third straight Regional Libero of the Year for the V-Hawks (Adrianna Reinhart, 2021-22). She was also a First-Team All-NSAA selection and conference Libero of the Year. She currently sits at 607 digs (4.90/set), 752 receptions, 101 assists, and 29 aces.

Grace Rohde, Jr., OH – Rohde returns to the All-Region team for the second time in her career. She has posted 455 kills (3.67/set) on .237 hitting and 376 digs so far this year. Additionally, she has 688 receptions, 45 blocks, and 10 assists, en route to also earning First-Team All-Conference.

Martina McGrath, Jr., MH – McGrath was the final V-Hawk to receive First-Team honors, making the first All-Region appearance of her career. She has posted career highs in almost every stat, including 270 kills, .306 hitting percentage, and 110 blocks.

Ryan DeLong was named the AVCA Northcentral Region Coach of the Year for the sixth time in his career, the third year in a row, and the fourth time in five years. He also earned his ninth Conference Coach of the Year award, leading the V-Hawks to NSAA Regular Season and Conference Tournament Championships. The V-Hawks are currently in their 17th 30-win season, and their             15th under DeLong.

Thomas Robson was named the Northcentral Region Assistant Coach of the Year. He is the first coach in program history to receive this honor.
