Winker Collects Second NSAA Attacker of the Week Accolade

BISMARK, N.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) has officially announced the fourth edition of its Women's Volleyball Players of the Week, and Viterbo's Kenzie Winker has been selected as the Attacker of the Week. This is Winker's second time winning the award this season.

Winker led the V-Hawks to a 3-0 record during their home opener tournament, the 2023 Days Inn V-Hawk Invitational, including two wins over Top 15 ranked teams in the nation.   She smashed 21 kills (7.0 kills per set) and hit .543 in the 3-0 sweep over No. 11 ranked Columbia (Mo.), which ties the third highest kills total in a three-set match in school history. She had back-to-back double-doubles in a win against William Menn (Iowa) and a reverse sweep of #10 Montana Tech. She also produced 29 digs and five blocks on the week.

She shared the weekly honors with Valley City State's (N.D.) JayCee Richter (Defender of the Week) and Sadie Hansen (Setter of the Week).

Winker and the V-Hawks look ahead to their home conference opener against Waldorf University (Iowa) on Wednesday.
