V-Hawks Ranked #7 in Preseason Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Viterbo University Women's Volleyball team opens the 2023 at #7 on the NAIA Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll. The V-Hawks ended last season at the #9 on the final coaches poll.

The University of Jamestown took the #1 spot with 18 out of 19 first place votes. The V-Hawks will travel to the Jimmies on Thursday, October 26.

Other Top 25 opponents for the V-Hawks include #12 Tayor (Ind.) in their season opener, #21 Marian (Ind.) on August 19, #2 Corban (Ore.) and #8 Missouri Baptist on August 25, #9 Midland (Neb.) August 26, #18 College of Saint Mary (Neb.) Sept. 1, #14 Columbia (Mo.) and #15 Montana Tech at the Viterbo University Invitational on Sept. 8 and 9, #17 Bellevue (Neb.) Sept. 20 and Oct. 20, #5 Northwestern (Iowa) on Sept. 26, and (RV) Rocky Mountain (Mont.) at the V-Hawk Fall Classic October 13.

The V-Hawks will look to improve on a season in which they went 30-8, shared the NSAA conference title, and won the conference tournament. VU split with Columbia and Missouri Baptist in Pool Play at the NAIA National Tournament Final Site last year. The V-Hawks return second-team All-Americans Jada Mitchell and Kenzie Winker, as well as honorable mention Grace Rohde.

Viterbo starts their season against #12 Taylor at 12:15 on August 18 at the Saint Francis Onset Invitational.
