Women's Volleyball Releases 2023 Schedule

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Women's Volleyball, who were ranked #9 in the final NAIA Top-25 Coaches Poll last season, team officially announced their 2023 schedule on Tuesday. The V-Hawks look to build on a 2022 season in which they went 30-8, including 13-1 in the North Star Athletic Association, a regular season and conference tournament title, and an appearance at the NAIA Championships final site.

Viterbo, led by the NSAA and AVCA Northcentral Region Offensive Player and Newcomer of the Year and Second-Team All-American Jada Mitchell, will kick off their season August 18-19 at University of St. Francis (Ind.) for the Onset Invitational, where they will match up against St. Francis (Ind.), Taylor University (Ind.), ranked #11 in last year's final top-25 poll, #21 Marian University (Ind.), and Oakland University (Mich.).

The following weekend, the V-Hawks, with four-time First-Team All-NSAA and two-time All-American Kenzie Winker, travel to #3 Midland University (Neb.) for matchups with the Warriors, Grandview University (Iowa), #4 Corban University (Ore.), and #12 Missouri Baptist, who the V-Hawks beat in the final game of last year's season in Pool Play at the NAIA Championship Final Site.

Grace Rohde, who was named All-American Honorable Mention, First Team All-Region and All-NSAA last year, will lead the V-Hawks to Sioux City, Iowa on September 1 for a meeting with #15 College of Saint Mary (Neb.) and Providence University (Mont.), then to (RV) Dordt University on September 2 to play the Defenders and Morningside University (Iowa).

Viterbo's home opener comes on September 9 in the 2023 Days Inn V-Hawk Invitational against William Penn University (Iowa). The V-Hawks will then look to take revenge on #16 Columbia College (Mo.), who handed Viterbo their final loss of last year's season, and finish the weekend against #17 Montana Tech.

Head Coach Ryan DeLong, coming off his eighth career conference Coach of the Year award, and the V-Hawks start NSAA play on September 13 by hosting Waldorf University (Iowa). VU will follow that by traveling to #14 Bellevue University (Neb.), who the V-Hawks shared last years' regular season title with, and beat in the conference tournament championship game, and Dakota State University (SD). Viterbo hosts #8 Northwestern (Iowa) in a mid-week game before finishing their first trip through conference by traveling to Dickinson State (ND) and Valley City State (ND) and hosting Mayville State (ND).

After traveling to Waldorf on October 11, the V-Hawks host the 2023 Days Inn Fall Classic October 13-14, welcoming Rocky Mountain University (Mont.), University St. Francis (Ind.) and Trinity Christian College (Ill.). While making their second round through NSAA play, VU will also play at #2 Jamestown University, the defending National Champions, on October 26. The regular season concludes on November 4 when the V-Hawks host Valley City State.

The NSAA Conference Tournament will be November 8-11 in Watertown, SD. The opening round of the NAIA National Tournament will be on November 18, and the National Championship Final Site in Sioux City, Iowa will be from November 28-December 5.
