Viterbo Earns Top Seed in NSAA Super Six

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Women's Volleyball team, ranked No. 7 in the most recent NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll, has earned the top seed in the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) "Super Six" Conference Tournament. The postseason tournament is set at Civic Arena in Watertown, S.D. on Friday (Nov. 11) and Saturday (Nov. 12).  The top six teams in the NSAA volleyball conference standings will compete for the automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament.

The V-Hawks will be joined by No. 2 Bellevue (Neb.), No. 3 Dakota State (S.D.), No. 4 Mayville State (N.D.), No. 5 Valley City State (N.D.), and No. 6 Presentation (S.D.). Viterbo and Bellevue shared the regular season conference title with identical 13-1 records, but Viterbo owned the tiebreaker based on sets won during their head-to-head meetings. (Viterbo 4 sets won to Bellevue 3 sets). Both teams receive a first-round bye, and Viterbo will take on the winner of the Mayville Sate-Valley City State match Friday night at 7 PM.

The semifinal winners will move on to the North Star conference championship match Saturday, Nov. 12.  First serve is set for 2 p.m. The winner of the NSAA Volleyball Postseason Conference Tournament will earn an automatic bid to the NAIA Volleyball National Tournament Opening Round, which is set for Nov. 19.  The national opening round winners will move on to the final set at Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa from Nov. 30-Dec. 6.

Viterbo has won the previous seven NSAA Conference tournaments.

The V-Hawks are led by Kenzie Winker's 3.69 kills/set (2nd in NSAA), Adrianna Reinhart's 5.30 digs/set (3rd in NSAA), and Lauryn Sobasky's 6.66 assists/set (5th in NSAA.)
