Mitchell Named Attacker of the Week

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Jada Mitchell, a Freshman middle hitter on the Viterbo University Women's Volleyball team, has been named the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Attacker of the Week, the league announced on Monday. This is Mitchell's first time winning the award.

Mitchell, a New Albin, Iowa native, was a huge part of the V-Hawks offense that claimed two conference wins to remain undefeated in NSAA play last week. On Friday, Viterbo swept Presentation College (S.D.) in a match in which Mitchell posted 10 kills on 12 attempt for an outstanding .833 hitting percentage. She followed that up with a 15-kill game against Mayville State (N.D.), hitting .565 en route to a 3-1 V-Hawks victory. For the week, Mitchell accumulated 25 kills and hit an impressive .657 by committing just two attack errors in 35 swings.  She also had three blocks for the week.

"Jada had a tremendous weekend, helping lead our team to two wins," said head coach Ryan DeLong. "Jada is such an exciting player and she showed how good she can be with her play this weekend."

Mitchell and the V-Hawks travel to Dickinson Sate (N.D.) and Valley City State (N.D.) this weekend as they continue NSAA play.
