Winker Named Attacker of the Week

LA CROSSE, Wis. Kenzie Winker, a Junior outside hitter on the Viterbo University Women's Volleyball team, has been named the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Attacker of the Week, the league announced on Monday. This is Winker's first time winning the award.

Winker, a Holeman, Wis. native, helped the V-Hawks to a 4-0 record last week in which they did not drop a single set. She had nine kills against Waldorf (Iowa) as Viterbo began their second trip through the NSAA, and double digit kills in each match as Viterbo hosted the Days Inn Onalaska Fall Classic. That included 12 against St. Francis (Ill.) and St. Francis (Ind.), and 19 in a ranked matchup with #23 Columbia (Mo.) while hitting .395.

"Kenz has been a big part of our offense all year along and once again this weekend she was as well," said Head Coach Ryan DeLong. "It is great to see her get recognized for her success."

Winker currently leads Viterbo with 343 kills, which also ranks her second in the NSAA.

Winker and the V-Hawks return to action Friday, October 21 as they host Presentation College (S.D.).
