Sobasky Becomes Third Member of the 3,000/1,000 Club

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Lauryn Sobasky, a senior on the Viterbo University Women's Volleyball team, became just the third player in school history to reach the milestone of 3,000 career assists and 1,000 career digs on Friday.

Sobasky, an Inver Grove Heights, Minn. native, is in her fifth season as the V-Hawks setter, and currently sits fourth in school history in career assists with 3,127. She is just 43 behind Stacie Hoffman (2009-12) for third place, and at her current season pace of over six assists per ser (a career high) she will look to pass Brianna Brinkman's (2011-14) career total of 3,677 for second place.

"I am extremely excited for Lauryn and her accomplishment of 3000/1000 club," said Head Coach Ryan DeLong, "being only the 3rd player in history to do this, it's something special. It shows her dedication to the game and our program and just the all-around volleyball player she is, it's a very special accomplishment."

After passing 1,000 career digs, Sobasky joins Hoffman and Amelia Grahn (2014-17) in the 3000/1000 club. This season, Sobasky is averaging a career best 2.16 digs/set, and has also cracked Viterbo's top five in career service aces at 152, and is just 27 away from setting a new school record.

Sobasky continues her impressive senior campaign on Wednesday, September 14 as the V-Hawks travel to Waldorf for their NSAA conference opener.
