V-Hawks Ranked #9 in First Top 25 Poll

KANSAS City, Mo. – The Viterbo University Women's Volleyball team comes in ranked at No. 9 in the first edition of the 2022 NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The V-Hawks remain at nine, where they were on the preseason edition of the poll as well.

Viterbo currently holds a 4-3 record, with wins over #12 Eastern Oregon (now ranked #7) in four sets, #13 Montana Tech (now #14) in four sets, (RV) Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) 3-0, and Northwest (Wash.) in five. Their losses came to #1 Missouri Baptist (still #1) 0-3, #5 Midland (Neb.) (now #2) 1-3, and (RV) Vanguard (Calif.) (now #19) in five sets.

Kenzie Winker leads the team with 93 kills over 28 sets played, Lauryn Sobasky leads with 170 assists, and Adrianna Reinhart with 107 digs. Mariah Calkins and Jada Mitchell have each posted 24 total blocks. Winker posted a career high 20 kills and became the 16th member of Viterbo's 1,000 kills-club in the matchup against Midland.

This weekend, the V-Hawks travel to North Sioux City, S.D. for the College of Saint Mary/United Sports Academy Labor Day Classic. They will take on #10 Concordia University (Neb.), and Tabor College (Iowa) on Friday, and the University of Saint Mary (Ks.) and Morningside University (Iowa) on Saturday.
