Volleyball Releases 2022 Schedule
LA CROSSE, Wis – The Viterbo University Women's Volleyball team has announced their 2022 season schedule. The V-Hawks finished last season 39-2, including a perfect 14-0 in NSAA play and also won the conference tournament. Viterbo lost in pool play at the national tournament and was ranked 7th in the final top 25 poll.
Viterbo will begin their 2022 campaign August 18 in Butte, Montana, with a game against Eastern Oregon at noon, who finished 16th in last year's final top 25 poll, and a game against Montana Tech, who finished 14th, at 6 P.M. On the 19th, the V-Hawks will face off against Vanguard at 2 P.M. and will finish the weekend against Northwest (WA) at 6 P.M.
The following weekend, Viterbo will travel to St. Louis, Missouri to take on Missouri Baptist, the defending National Champions who the V-Hawks swept in their matchup in 2021.
Labor Day weekend, Viterbo will travel to Sioux City, Iowa to take on Concordia (NE), who knocked the V-Hawks out of the playoffs last season in a five-set match, September 2 at 1 P.M. The V-Hawks will then face Tabor at 5 P.M, followed by St. Francis (IL) on the 3rd at 2 P.M., and ending the weekend against Morningside at 5 P.M.
Viterbo's home-opener will come on September 9th at 2 P.M against Taylor in a home tournament, also including games against Bethel (IN) at 6 P.M, Rochester on the 10th at 11 A.M, and Rocky Mountain at 3 P.M.
On September 14th the V-Hawks will travel to Waldorf for their NSAA conference opener. The next weekend, Viterbo will host Dickinson State on the 23rd and Valley City State on the 24th. On September 27th, the V-Hawks will play a non-conference game at Northwestern (IA), before going traveling to Mayville State on the 30th, and Presentation on October 1st.
On the 7th, Viterbo will host Bellevue, who finished last season ranked 9th, and Dakota State on the 8th, who was receiving votes in last year's final poll. October 12th will begin Viterbo's second run through conference play, hosting Waldorf at 7 P.M.
On October 14th and 15th, Viterbo will host their second home tournament of the year, facing-off against St. Francis (IL) on the 14th at 2 P.M., and Colombia, who finished 25th, at 6 P.M. On the 15th, the V-Hawks will take on St. Francis (IN) at 11 A.M, and a rematch against Montana Tech at 3 P.M.
Viterbo will host Presentation October 21 at 6 P.M, and Mayville State the 22nd at 1 P.M, before finishing the season with four road games, including Dickinson Sate on the 27th, Valley City State the 28th, Dakota State on November 4th, and finishing the regular season at Bellevue on the 5th.
The NSAA Conference Tournament will be on November 11th and 12th in Watertown SD, the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round will be on the 19th, with the NAIA National Pool Play starting on the 30th in Sioux City, Iowa.
