V-Hawks Sweep Valley City State

LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Viterbo University Women's Volleyball team continued their spring portion of the schedule with their second game of the weekend on Saturday afternoon at R.W. Beggs Sr. Gymnasium. The V-Hawks defeated Valley City State University in three sets (25-14, 25-13, 25-23).

The V-Hawks started off strong with a kill by Katie Frohmader (SR/Fort Atkinson, Wis.) followed by an ace. A kill by Kenzie Winker (SO/Holmen, Wis.) put the V-Hawks up 18-9. Three kills by the V-Hawks offense put Viterbo up 24-14, an attack error by Valley City gave Viterbo the first set.

Viterbo started continued to dominate in the second set leading 13-3. The V-Hawks offense did not let up as they tallied 14 kills in the second set. Set three went back and forth until the end of the set with the V-Hawks securing the win 25-23.

Rekha Drevlow (SR/Lake Mills, Wis.) led the way in kills with 11, hitting .846 on the afternoon. Kenzie Winker followed behind Drevlow with 10 kills of her own. Abbey Johnson (SO/Brodhead, Wis.) led the V-Hawks with 18 assists while Adrianna Reinhart (JR/Caledonia, Minn.) added 11 digs.

The Viterbo Women's Volleyball team (4-6) will travel to Mayville, North Dakota on March 10th to play Mayville State University at 7:00 PM CT. Follow the action on our website or by following us on social media.
