V-Hawk women's volleyball opens up conference play with a win at Waldorf

FOREST CITY, Iowa. - The Viterbo University women's volleyball team began North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) play on Thursday night, traveling to Waldorf University. After two hard-fought games to kick off the season, the V-Hawks were looking for a statement win. Viterbo defeated Waldorf in three sets (25-12, 25-20, 25-12).

Viterbo meant business right from the start of set one. The team attack percentage increased each set and by the end of the night, the V-Hawks had 32 total attacks. Maya Roberts (SR/Watertown, Wis.) (Sr. - Watertown, Wis.) led the way in attacks for the V-Hawks, recording eight, followed by Rekha Drevlow (SR/Lake Mills, Wis.) (Sr. - Lake Mills, Wis.) with six. Setter Chloe Jakscht (SR/East Troy, Wis.) (Sr. - East Troy, Wis.) tallied 15 assists on the night. Viterbo did a great job defending the attack, only allowing 25 Waldorf kills and accumulating 39 digs in the game, led by Adrianna Reinhart (JR/Caledonia, Minn.) (Jr. - Caledonia, Minn.) and Lauryn Sobasky (JR/Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) (Jr. - Inver Grove Heights, Minn.).
