Frohmader, Xu Named to NAIA All-Tournament Team

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Viterbo Women's Volleyball players Katie Frohmader (SO/Fort Atkinson, Wis.) and Lydia Xu (SO/Shanghai, China) were named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championship All-Tournament Team, which was announced by the Association on Saturday night.

Frohmader played all 23 sets for the V-Hawks, averaging 2.04 kills per set and held a .158 hitting percentage through the tournament. She totaled 16 kills in a five-set win over #10 Southern Oregon last Thursday and hit .357 on six kills and one error in a sweep of #8 Northwestern in the Round of 16.

Her 12 service aces were second among players at the final site (pool play or later), averaging 0.5 per set. Frohmader also totaled six blocks and 30 digs.

Xu held the highest hitting percentage (.432) and the 18th-most kills per set (3.3) of players who were at the final site. She finished with double-digit kills in five of Viterbo's six games at the tournament, including 18 in a four-set upset of #1 Grand View.

Her 1.0 blocks per set average was 19th-best in the final site tournament field. She had two games with multiple solo blocks and finished with 13.5 total blocks.

#7-ranked Viterbo ended as NAIA Semifinalists for the fourth time in five seasons and made at least the Round of 16 in six of the last seven seasons. The V-Hawks ranked seventh among final site teams in service aces per set (1.4) and 11th in blocks per set (2.1).
