Three V-Hawks Named All-American at Outdoor National Meet

MARION, Ind. - Seven V-Hawks competed at the NAIA National outdoor Track and Field Championships this past week, with three earring All-American honors in the pole vault and the heptathlon. 

Olivia Wingo led the V-Hawks in the pole vault, clearing 3.90m (12-9.50) placing third and named All-American. Wingo also competed in the high jump placing 14th after clearing 1.61m (5-3.50) on her first attempt. 

Placing fifth for an All-America award, Emma Johnson would vault 3.80m (12-5.50) after clearing the previous bar in a single attempt. 

Avery Poppe would earn an eighth place finish in the Heptathlon with 4,557 points for an All-American finish as the only freshman in the field. 

On the track Tori Gerber placed 20th in the 1,500m run with a time of 4:55.84, while the women's 4x100m relay would finish 25th with a time of 49.62. 

The V-Hawks finished with 11 team points at the national meet, which is the most the V-Hawks have scored at the national meet in program history.
