V-Hawks Perform at Mississippi River Rumble

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Viterbo University Women's Track and Field team competed on Saturday afternoon in the University of Dubuque Mississippi River Rumble claiming third of five.

Olivia Wingo led the V-Hawks with another broken school record in the pole vault with an "A" Standard vault of 4.00m (13-1.50), now ranking #2 in the nation. Claiming second in the pole vault Emma Johnson would reach a qualifying "B" Standard with a 3.65m (11-11.75) vault, ranking #9 in the NAIA, followed by Emily Ludwig in fourth at 3.20m (10-6.0) and Izzy Keck at the same height.

The 4x100 relay would clinch a second place finish with a time of 48.89 including Lillia Chvatal, Wingo, Avery Poppe, and Braylee Hyatt. Hyatt would also claim third in the 100m dash with a time of 12.64 and in the 200m dash with a time of 26.69. Pearla Teko-Folly and Johnson would join Hyatt in the 200m finals with fifth and seventh place finishes at 27.12 and 27.33.

Johnson and Ludwig would one-two the 100m hurdles with respective times of 15.29 and 15.30. Ludwig would also clinch a second place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:07.99, Kendra Czerneski coming in seventh with a time of 1:19.84.

Rounding out on the track Lainey Teynor would place fourth in the 400m at 1:03.36. On the runway Poppe would take the crown in the long jump with a distance of 5.36m (17-7.0), Chvatal coming close behind in third at 5.11m (16-9.25). Teko-Folly with a distance of 10.66m (34-11.75) in the triple jump would grab third place, followed in fourth by Rhianna Robinson at 10.62m (34-10.0). To top off jumps Teko-Folly would also place third in the high jump with a height of 1.55m (5-1.0).

Kaylie Wiedmeyer toping the throws for the V-Hawks with a third place finish in the shot put would reach 11.97m (39-3.25), less than a foot behind Brooklyn Ludescher would take fourth at 11.70m (38-4.75).

The V-Hawks return to action Saturday April 12th at the Bethel Invitational.
