V-Hawks Dominate Events at Winter Open
Olivia Wingo led the V-Hawks with a pair of first place finishes in the pole vault with a height of 1.56m and in the high jump with a jump of 3.70m. Joining her at pole vault in second through fourth place is Emma Johnson at 3.70m, Izzy Keck at 3.35m, and Emily Ludwig at 3.20m.
Also taking first, Avery Poppe jumped a height of 1.56m in the high jump, placed third in the 60m with a time of 8.08, and took the first place slot in the 4x400 along side Braylee Hyatt, Mackenzie Geers, and Lainey Teynor. Hyatt also placed second in the long jump with a 5.05m jump and fourth in the 60m dash with a time of 8.12.
Sophomore, Emily Ludwig hurdled to first in the 60m with a time of 9.16, closely followed by Johnon with a time of 9.31. Taking home second place in her first meet as a V-Hawk Rhianna Robinson triple jumped 10.44m, while Lillia Chvatal long jumped 4.99m for third place, and Kaylie Wiedmeyer threw 11.68m for fifth in the shot put.
The V-Hawks return to action on Saturday, January 18 at the St. Olaf Ole Opener.
