Five V-Hawks Compete at National Championships
BROOKINGS, SD – Five Members of the Viterbo University Women's Track and Field team competed at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend. Indiana Tech claimed the Red Banner with 85 points as Jaunita Webster-Freeman was named Outstanding Performer. Addy Wiley of second place Huntington (ind.) was the MVP.
Three V-Hawks competed in the Pole Vault competition and Bailey Nuutinen had the best performance, finishing in 16th after clearing 3.52m (11-6.5). Emma Johnson placed 23rd, vaulting 3.42m (11-2.5) and Tess Durscher recorded no height.
Breanna Ihde ran the 60-meter dash in 7.79 seconds to place 27th, and Clair Shepardson was 39th in the 0-meter hurdles with a time of 9.22.
Nuutinen looks to make a return to the Outdoor Championships, where she earned All-American last year. The Outdoor season starting on Wednesday, March 29 at the Texas Relays.
