Clements Leads in Win

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - The Viterbo University Women's Soccer team rose to victory over Indiana South Bend in a 4-0 win Saturday afternoon. The V-Hawks rise to 4-3 (CCAC 1-1) while the Titans fall to 1-7-1 (CCAC 0-3).  

The V-Hawks would come on attack early in the first half. In the 4th minute of the game Alex Little would take the first shot on goal which would be saved by the Titans goalie Cotton. But shortly after in the 6th minute Lauren Wedig would play a ball through for Brooke Clements to run onto and she would slot it into the back of the net giving the V-Hawks an early lead. Later in the half Elle Hager would find Clements who would strike and find the back of the net again in the 30th minute for her second goal of the afternoon. Going into the half the V-Hawks out shot the Titans 13-2.  

The momentum would continue in the second half for VU. Less then 20 seconds after kick off, Little would find Wedig in stride as she tapped the ball past the keeper to raise the lead to 3-0. South Bend would test VU as Olivia Enyeart would record three shots in the second half. The V-Hawks defense would stand strong and in the 70th minute as they would counter attack finding Clements up top who would then find Evy Shaw on the outside. Shaw's speed would aid getting a shot past the keeper bringing the score to 4-0 for the afternoon. Vriens, Zilm, and Brunner would all contribute to the 3rd V-Hawks shut out of the year.  

The V-Hawks continue conference play on the road Tuesday, October 1st at Trinity Christian.
