V-Hawks Take Down Blue-Devils

MENOMONIE, Wis.- The Viterbo University Women's soccer team dominated UW-Stout as the final score ended 4-0 Saturday afternoon. The V-Hawks rise to 3-2 while the Blue Devils fall to 0-4-2. 

Brooke Clements would take the first shot for the V-Hawks in the 14th minute, which was quickly followed by Jenna Bennet in the 18th. Shortly after, in the 19th minute Kelcie Karweick would take the first shot on goal which was saved by the Blue Devils goalie, Clements would be there for the rebound giving the V-Hawks an early lead. Rachel Kinney would strike a freekick past the keeper with seconds left in the half.  

VU would continue the scoring in the second half as Jenna Bennett would find Kinney's head on a corner kick 9 minutes into the half to give Kinney her second goal of the game. The Blue Devils out possessed the Hawks in the second half, though it would not be enough as the V-Hawks would top of the match with a goal tapped in by Karweick in the 75th minute off a corner.  

The V-Hawks take the field again September 24th on the road at St. Xavier to kick off conference play.
