Kinney, Vriens Named CCAC Players of the Week

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) announced their Women's Soccer Players of the Week on Wednesday evening for the Week of Oct. 30 – Nov. 5, and Viterbo's Rachel Kinney and Veerle Vriens were selected as the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.

The V-Hawks only match during the week was at Trinity Christian College (Ill.) in the first round of the CCAC Postseason Tournament. The #7 seeded V-Hawks upset the #2 Seeded Trolls, winning 1-1 with 3-1 advantage in penalty kicks.

Both Kinney and Vriens played vital roles in the upset. Vriens recorded nine saves through regulation, and saved three of TCC's penalty kicks, while Kinny put in the penalty kick that guaranteed the win for the V-Hawks.

Viterbo finished its season at 7-6-6 after falling in the CCAC Tournament semifinal round on Tuesday to Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.)
