Women's Soccer Set to Take on Trinity Christian in CACC Tournament First Round

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Women's Soccer team is set to complete in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament Friday. This is the V-Hawks first season competing in the CCAC, and they qualified as the #7 seed in the tournament.

Viterbo, who finished with a 7-5-5 (5-4-2 CCAC) record, received the seventh seed after recording 17 points in the standings. Eight of the 12 teams in the conference make the tournament, and the higher seed hosts each match of the three-round tournament. The teams are not re-seeded after each round.

The V-Hawks trailed Judson University (Ill.) and Saint Xavier University (Ill.) in the standings by a single point, while edging out the final qualifier, Roosevelt University (Ill.) by five points.

VU will travel to #2 Trinity Christian College (Ill.) on Friday afternoon. The Trolls hold a 12-3-3 record on the year, while going 8-1-2 in conference play. The teams tied 2-2 when Viterbo hosted Trinity Christian on September 27. Brooke Clements, who ranks tied for first in assists and third in goals in the league, recorded one of each in the match, while Ella Herman (ranked fourth) scored the other goal.
