LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Viterbo University Women's Soccer team traveled to Georgia for the 2022 Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Tournament. The fourth-seeded V-Hawks battled #1 Bellevue University on Friday evening and fell short 0-2. Viterbo finishes their season with an overall record of 8-6-2, and 1-0-1 in conference play.
Bellevue came out strong in the first half attempting two shots before landing one on the goal by Sinai Bernal at the 11:42 mark. Viterbo's Rachel Kinney took the first shot for the V-Hawks at the 18:16 mark but ended in a team save by the Bruins. The V-Hawks would record two more unsuccessful shots before the half down 0-1.
V-Hawk Alex Little took the first shot of the second half and ended left of the net at the 55:36 mark. Viterbo goalie Molly Ripley would record two saves early on in the half followed by an unsuccessful header shot by Grace Breuchel. A foul on Viterbo would lead to Bellevue's second goal of the evening at the 86:10 mark by Ketlyn Rota. The V-Hawks would fall to the Bruins 0-2.
Viterbo goalie Molly Ripley recorded 4 saves while Jenn Amaro recorded 2. Viterbo attempted a total of 6 shots compared to Bellevue's 10. The V-Hawks took 3 corner kicks while the Bruins took 4.
