Breuchel Named Offensive Player of the Week
LA CROSSE, Wis – Grace Breuchel, a freshman on the Viterbo University Women's Soccer team, has been selected as the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Breuchel, a McFarland, Wis native, started the week by setting a new school of sox goals scored in a single game in Viterbo's 8-2 win at Martin Luther College (Minn.). Two days later, Breuchel recorded another hat trick when the V-hawks hosted North Central University (Minn.) and won 9-1.
"Grace has come in and is playing at a very high level," said Head Coach Scott Prinstill. "She is very consistent and looks like a veteran on the pitch. The team is creating a lot of good opportunities for her and she is doing her job by finishing them."
Breuchel finished her historic week by scoring a goal and providing two assists in a 5-0 victory against Rockford University (Ill.). over the week, she totaled 10 goals, and two assists for 22 points. She attempted 20 shots, with 16 being on goal.
