Viterbo Falls at #6 Keiser

WEST PALM BEAHC, Fla. – The Viterbo University Women's Soccer team fell 4-0 to Keiser University (Fla.), ranked #6 in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll, at Arrigo-Vecellio Stadium on Tuesday. The V-Hawks fall to 0-2, while the Seahawks improve to 2-0.

Viterbo's Grace Breuchel would start the game with a shot on goal in the third minute, but goalie Grace McClellan was there for the save. Four minutes later, V-Hawks goalie Madison Williams would record her first save of the game on a shot form Viki Adam. Williams would record two more saves before Romana Kannady, assisted by Lauren Riley and Kyoka Koshijim, found the net at 15:58. Kennedy Alves shot went wide at the 31:45 mark and less than a minute later, Koshijim put in a penalty kick to go up 2-0. In the 34th minute, Julia Forslund found Koshijim who hit the right corner for her second goal of the game and put the Seahawks up 3-0 going into halftime.

KU's Chelsie Hay would have two quick shot on goal to being the second half, but Williams would be there to save both. Lauren Wedig had a shot that went wide in the 58th minute, and Koshijim would complete the hat trick with a Maja Henriksson-assisted, left-footed goal at 67:54. Williams would record four more saves in the game, and Belle Johnson and Breuchel would each have another shot on goal, but McClellan was there to hold the shutout.

The Seahawks outshot the V-Hawks 25-5, and shots on by 16-3. Keiser also took all nine corner kicks in the game.

Williams (0-2) had 10 saves on the day, while McClellan (2-0) earned three.

Viterbo will host Trinity Christian on Saturday, September 3rd at 4:00 PM for Senior and Parents Day.
