Desens' clean defensive play earns her the CAC Defensive Player of the Week title
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Sophomore Carsen Desens has been named one of the Continental Athletic Conference women's soccer Players of the Week. Desens, the defensive honoree, helped the V-Hawks post a shutout against Iowa Wesleyan University last Thursday. She has started 10 matches for a team that stands 8-3 on the season.
Head Women's Soccer Coach Scott Pirnstill had this to say, "Carsen has been very consistent this year in the back line. Our center back was out with injury in the game (Iowa Wesleyan) so Carsen had to step into that role and did a fantastic job. The conditions of the game were terrible with a slippery beat-up surface and a constant downpour. She navigated the conditions well and helped the rest of the defense keep a clean sheet."
