Women's Soccer Wins Fourth Straight Game

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo Women's Soccer team (4-2) took on Cornell College on Saturday afternoon. The V-Hawks scored three times early in the first half to secure the victory, 3-1.

It only took 12 minutes and 13 seconds for the V-Hawks to get on the board due to an Abigail Mumm (JR/Brookfield, Wis.) goal, assisted by Lauren Wedig (FR/Siberia, Russia). Just three minutes later, Lauren Wedig scored a goal of her own to make it 2-0 Viterbo. A short six minutes later, at 21:01, Sydney King (SR/Blue Mounds, Wis.) scored Viterbo's third goal of the half.

Cornell was able to score once in the second half, but the V-Hawks were able to hold them, securing the victory. Viterbo took 18 shots compared to Cornell's six. Goalie, Bergen Beversdorf (FR/Stevens Point, Wis.) collected three saves.

The V-Hawks will be back in action on September 13th at Bethany College in Mankato, Minnesota.
