Women's Soccer wins 5-0 on Senior Day

LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Viterbo University Women's Soccer team played their last home game of the fall yesterday against Maranatha Baptist University. The V-Hawks defeated Maranatha, 5-0, to improve their season record to 6-0 (1-0 A.I.I).

Viterbo came out of the gate swinging with a score from Megan Goodman (So. - Pewaukee, Wis.) in the first five minutes of the game off a corner kick from Sydney King (Jr. - Blue Mounds, Wis.). The V-Hawks were on the offensive side of things for most of the game, contributing 23 of the 25 total shots in the game. Of those 23 shots, 19 were on goal.

Abigail Mumm (So. - Brookfield, Wis.) was a standout for the V-Hawks, scoring three of the team's goals to complete the first hat trick of her college career. Tessa Whitney (Jr. - Byron, Minn.) also scored a goal for Viterbo at 38'.

Prior to the start of the game, the Womens' Soccer team honored their three seniors. Abby Breitbach (Sr. - Oregon, Wis.), Lexie Reesman (Sr. - Burlington,Wis.), and Lara Boyum (Sr. - Kasson, Minn.) have been key players for the V-Hawks for the past four seasons. All three seniors have started in over 40 games, received multiple awards, and have been great leaders in the Women's Soccer program.
