LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Viterbo University Women's Soccer team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 5-0 victory over the University of Northwestern-St. Paul. This match was largely controlled by the V-Hawks as goalkeeper Abby Breitbach saved all three shots she saw during the contest. Most of the action remained on the Eagles' side of the field, as Viterbo fired a total of 17 shots of which 11 were on frame. The V-Hawks were not only able to keep consistent pressure on their opponents, but they were able to do so from multiple players as all five goals were scored by different players: Abigail Mumm (So. - Brookfield, Wis.) at (20'), Alexie Stephani (Fr. - Blaine, Minn.) at (27'), Sydney King (Jr. - Blue Mounds, Wis.) at (38'), Megan Goodman (So. - Pewaukee, Wis.) at (62'), and Aimee Kemper (So. - Woodbury, Minn.) at (80') to close things out.

Sydney King led the offensive charge for the V-Hawks, particularly in the first half, and took a total of 5 shots on goal during the game. King had comments about the V-Hawks' approach to the game, "[The Eagles] are a sound team and the only way to break them down is with constant pressure. That was our game plan coming into this."

The Viterbo Women's Soccer team will have a couple of days to rest before taking on Waldorf University at home on Monday, October 5 at 4:00 p.m. CT. Waldorf will be looking to avenge two losses to the V-Hawks from last season. Follow the action on V-Hawks Game Day or connect with us on social media.
