Bio

Julia is excited to return to Viterbo for her fourth season as an assistant coach for the women’s golf program after spending her collegiate career representing the V-Hawks on the course. From a family of golfers, the sport left its mark on Julia at the young age of seven when her brother "accidentally" struck her in the face with a 3-wood, resulting in seven stitches. Golf is literally in her blood.

Julia played on the Eau Claire Memorial varsity girls’ golf team all four years of high school and capped out her senior year with a top-ten individual finish in the WIAA Division I state tournament. As a V-Hawk, Julia played from 2011 to 2015, earning Academic All-Conference honors all four years, as well as Honorable Mention All-Conference her junior year and First-Team All-Conference her senior year.

Eager to spread the love of the sport, Julia spent her summers as a college student instructing the Eau Claire YMCA’s youth golf program. She also freely gives tips to close friends and family, which they all absolutely love and appreciate – especially her boyfriend, whose handicap she makes sure to keep a comfortable 3-5 strokes behind her own.

Following graduation from Viterbo in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics, Julia spent one year teaching math at the high school level in eastern Wisconsin. Currently, she works as the Mathematics Specialist at Western Technical College in La Crosse, helping students tackle mathematical concepts while coming to appreciate the beauty and necessity of the subject. In her spare time, Julia likes to relax as well as adventure with friends and family, compete in recreational sand volleyball leagues, and obsess over Wisconsin sports teams.
