V-Hawks Compete at Blugold Invitational

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Women's Golf team finished ninth out of 12 teams at the UW-Eau Claire Georgianni-Blugold Invite this weekend. The V-Hawks scored 355 on the first day to reach seventh place, then improved their score to 353 on Sunday, but dropped to ninth. Their total score of 708 was +136.

Ashley Johnson was the top performer for the V-Hawks coming in tied at 23rd out of 58 competitors with 173. Johnson hit 88 on day one, then improved three strokes on day two. Caylee Beyer tied her teammate the first day, and kept the same score of 88 on the second for a total of 176, which tied for 30th. Ariel Heuer was just a single stroke behind Beyer on both days, finishing at 178 and tied for 36th. Rylee Haines score of 181 placed her 41st at +38, and Lillia Rather was the final V-Hawks to compete, finishing 46th at 189.

UW-La Crosse won the contest with a score of 642. Viterbo's team score of 708 was just two strokes behind UW-Stevens Point for eight place, and 47 strokes better than 10th place Augsburg.

The V-Hawks return to action September 18 and 19th.
